Minister of Tourism Stresses Capacity Building of Leadership to Develop Sector

Addis Ababa November 13/2024 (ENA)-Ethiopia’s Minister of Tourism Selamawit Kassa stressed the need for building the execution capacity of the leadership and professionals of tourism sector towards fostering its economic contribution to the development of the country.

The Ministry of Tourism and African Leadership Excellence Academy (AFLEX) today signed MoU to collaborate on capacity building. 

At the occasion, Selamawit recalled that the ministry is committed to intensifying its effort towards the development of tourism destinations as it is one of the five pillars of the Homegrown Economic Reform.

Therefore, the need for capacity building for the leaderships and the experts in the tourism sector contributes for the national economic development of the country, she added.

Ethiopia is committed to attracting global tourists and showcasing its abundant natural, historical, and cultural treasures by enhancing visitor experiences and improving lodging facilities to meet international standards.

Over the last six years, several tourist destinations have been developed throughout the country, among others, Beynouna Village, Gorgora, Wonchi and Koysha out of the capital and Unity Park, Entoto Park, Friendship Park, Science Museum in Addis Ababa.  

Minister of Tourism Selamawit Kassa and AFLEX President Zadig Abreha signed the MoU.
