AMCEN Consultative Meeting Convenes in Baku 

Addis Ababa November 17/2024 (ENA) The African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN), chaired by Ethiopia, convenes its consultative meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan, on the sidelines of COP29.

Led by AMCEN President Fitsum Assefa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Planning and Development, this session brings together African leaders, experts, and partners to discuss critical environmental issues, climate negotiations, and sustainable development priorities for Africa.

Key agenda items include updates from the Africa Group of Negotiators on Climate Change, insights from the IPCC on climate science and the role of African authors, as well as discussions on the upcoming 20th Ordinary Session of AMCEN.
