South Sudanese, Ethiopian Parliamentarians Hold Discussions

Addis Ababa November 22/2024 (ENA) A15-Member of South Sudan’s Parliament delegation held discussions with Public Expenditure Administration and Control Affairs Standing Committee of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR).

The discussion focused on drawing experiences on matters of public expenditure and scrutiny as well as forging bilateral relations between the Ethiopia and South Sudan  through parliamentarian engagement.  

Chairperson of the Public Expenditure Administration and Control Affairs Standing Committee at the Ethiopian House of People’s Representatives, Yeshiemebete Demsie said the South Sudanese parliamentarians were briefed on Public expenditure and scrutiny affairs.

 

They were also provided  further explanations on the progress of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam(GERD), the comprehensive reforms being undertaken by the country and the results attained, Yeshiemebet added. 

 South Sudan’s Member of the Specialized Committee Finance and Economic Planning Ding Lam Yual said that they have drawn Ethiopia’s public expenditure and they would contextualize to South Sudanese parliament.
