PP Celebrates its 5th anniversary with Series of Grand Ceremonies

Addis Ababa November 23/2024 (ENA) The ruling Prosperity Party (PP) in Ethiopia  is celebrating its 5th anniversary today with a grand ceremony at the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum in Addis Ababa.

The event brought together key government officials, including Deputy President of the Prosperity Party, Adem Farah; Speaker of the House of People's Representatives, Tagesse Chafo; Speaker of the House of Federation, Agegnehu Teshager; and party members, among others.

The anniversary serves as a moment to reflect on the party's journey and the political, economic, and social changes that have taken place over the past five years.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, who assumed office in April 2018, initiated the formation of the PP as part of his broader political reforms aimed at creating a more unified, national party.

The PP was envisioned to transcend ethnic divisions and promote national unity, with a focus on development, democracy, and peace.

The formation of the Prosperity Party marked a significant shift in Ethiopia’s political landscape, aiming to establish a more centralized political system while balancing ethnic diversity with national unity.
