Ethiopia, China Agree to Strengthen Cooperation in Cybersecurity

Addis Ababa November 25/2024 (ENA) Ethiopia and China have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

This commitment was made during a meeting between Tigist Hamid, Director General of the Information Network Security Administration (INSA), and Chen Hai, the Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia.

Tigist Hamid briefed Ambassador Chen on the cyber security products and services provided by the administration as well as ongoing efforts to enhance the nation’s cyber security infrastructure.

 

Highlighting the importance of stronger cooperation, Tigist emphasized the need for continued support and collaboration between the Ethiopian and Chinese governments in various sectors of cyber security.

She also expressed hope that the partnership would play a crucial role in strengthening Ethiopia’s efforts in its digital infrastructure.

Ambassador Chen Hai recognized the encouraging efforts being made by the administration to ensure cyber security and  foster  Ethiopia’s economic and social development 

He underscored that the two countries should continue thire robust collaboration they have demonstrated in other areas  in the cyber security as well. 

To this effect, the ambassador assured that he would provide the necessary support.
