Iranian Parliament Speaker Qalibaf Arrives in Addis Ababa For Official Visit to Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, January 16, 2025 (ENA) --Iranian delegation led by the speaker of Islamic cunsultant assembly (parliament) of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mohammed Baqer Ghalibaf arrived in Addis Ababa today for an official visit to Ethiopia.

Speaker of Ethiopia’s House of People's Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, Foreign Affairs State Minister, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano and others government officials have welcomed the delegation upon arrival, at the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport.

During his visit to Ethiopia, the speaker is expected to meet high level government officials to discuss on issues enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.

Ethiopia and Iran enjoy strong cooperation in various sectors including trade, investment, tourism and technology transfer.

The two countries have maintained formal diplomatic relations since 1950, it was learned.

The visit is a landmark diplomat tour to strengthen bilateral relations of the two historical countries.
