Ethiopian, Iranian Parliament Speakers Confer on Fostering Cooperation
Addis Ababa, January 17, 2025 (ENA) — The Speaker of the Ethiopian House of Peoples' Representatives, Tagesse Chafo, conferred with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammed Beqer Qalibaf, at his office today.
Speakers of the two parliaments held discussions on economic, political and cultural issues to foster cooperation between Ethiopia and Iran.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening ties to foster mutual development between the two countries.
Expressing commitment to building robust partnerships between the two countries, both speakers reiterated the potential for collaboration in various sectors, including agriculture, technology, and infrastructure development.
They expressed optimism about the future of Ethiopian-Iranian relations, stressing that both nations share common interests to harness mutual benefits.
The two sides also touched upon cultural exchanges, recognizing the rich histories and traditions of both nations with underlining potential for educational collaboration and people-to-people exchanges that would foster understanding and goodwill between the two countries.
Ethiopia and Iran continued to strengthen their diplomatic ties, the partnership would yield tangible benefits for both nations and the region at large, they underscored.
The Iranian delegation led by Mohammed Baqer Qalibaf arrived in Addis Ababa yesterday for official visit to Ethiopia.
The delegation visited Adwa Victory Memorial, which stands as a powerful symbol of black triumph.
Qalibaf admired the remarkable transformation that Ethiopia has undergone in recent years.
