Embassies, Int’l Organizations Extend Best Wishes on Occasion of Ethiopian Epiphany Celebration

Addis Ababa, January 19, 2025 (ENA) ----The embassies of various countries in Addis Ababa, along with international organizations, have conveyed their warmest regards in celebration of Timket, the Ethiopian Epiphany.

Ethiopian Christians across the country have today colorfully celebrated Timket, the Ethiopian Epiphany to commemorate the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the Baptist in the River Jordan.

Accordingly, the embassies of several countries and international organizations in Addis Ababa have extended their best wishes to all Ethiopian Christians on the occasion of the celebration of Timket.

The embassies of the United States, Israel, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Pakistan, Iran, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Austria, Sweden, and Canada are among the countries that sent their best wishes. 

The United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and International Migration Organization East African Bordeaux have extended similar messages.  

Former US Ambassador to Ethiopia, Tibor Nagy wished a Happy Timket (Epiphany) to those in Ethiopia celebrating this holy and spectacular festival.
