Ethiopia, Qatar Taking Significant Strides to Boost Economic Partnership

Addis Ababa, February 22, 2025 (ENA) - Ethiopia and Qatar are taking significant strides to bolster their economic partnership, according to the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC).

Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission(EIC), Zeleke Temesgen met with Saad bin Mubarak Naimi, the Qatari Ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union (AU).

During their discussion, Zeleke highlighted the longstanding collaboration and the Ethiopian government’s commitment to fostering a vibrant investment climate.

 

With initiatives aimed at creating a business-friendly environment, Ethiopia is opening doors for international investors.

Key efforts include: liberalization of various sectors, ease of doing business initiatives, and attracting private sector engagement, according to the Ethiopian Investment Commission(EIC).

Ambassador Naimi echoed this sentiment, affirming Qatar’s dedication to boosting investment flows into Ethiopia.

The two sides agreed to host a tailored investment forum for Qatari investors, paving the way for more regular engagements, EIC further stated.
